About Reunion
Reunion or Réunion island (in French Île de la Réunion or La Réunion), stands for an overseas department and region of France located in the Indian Ocean east of Madagascar and 175 km southwest of Mauritius.
Since 2010, Reunion is a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to the Réunion National Park, which covers about 40% of the island’s area and it is worth to be seen.
While your stay in Réunion, do not miss its capital, Saint-Denis, where you can find many sights such as Jardin de l’État, Le Barachois, La Roche Écrite and Léon Dierx Museum. The isle also has stunning beaches and natural landscapes. Do not forget to taste the local cuisine!
The Bourbon Roses, the common garden roses, originated in Réunion and are widely present along it.
